Welcome to The Crown Dental Center

Care that takes
its time. The Crown Dental Center — a family, cosmetic, and emergency dentist in Dyer, Indiana.

A calm, considered dental practice in Dyer, Indiana — gentle family, cosmetic, and same-day emergency care, with transparent pricing. Dentistry. Aesthetics. Wellness.

02About

A practice built around how the visit actually feels.

Most of us were raised to dread the dentist. Dr. A started The Crown Dental Center to undo that. The chairs face the window. The schedule leaves room to breathe. Nobody is rushed, talked down to, or sold something they don't need.

Behind the calm is serious clinical work — digital scanning, careful planning, and a small team that has time to actually know you. Premium care, without the cold edges.

Meet Dr. Jasmine (Yasmeen) Abdullhaka “Dr. A”

Founder and owner of The Crown Dental Center, Dr. A earned her B.S. in Nutritional Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine.

She believes great dentistry goes beyond teeth — listening to each patient and building conservative, comprehensive plans so they leave informed and confident. Known for her gentle, detail-focused care, she builds lasting relationships with patients of all ages. Away from the office, she enjoys family, cooking, reading, and travel.

“My goal is simple: to care for every patient with honesty, compassion, and excellence. I believe everyone deserves a healthy smile they can feel proud of, and I'm honored to be part of that journey. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to The Crown Dental Center.”

— Dr. A

04Questions

Good to
know.

Still wondering about something? Call us — a real person answers.

Do you take my insurance, and how does payment work?
We work with PPO plans and file claims on your behalf. If you're uninsured, our in-house membership covers cleanings, exams, and X-rays for a flat annual fee. Every treatment plan comes with an itemized estimate before we begin — no surprises — and for larger work we partner with third-party financing so you can spread care into manageable monthly payments.
I'm a new patient — what happens at the first visit?
We're welcoming new patients of all ages. A first visit is a relaxed exam, digital scans, and a gentle cleaning if time allows — about an hour total. You'll leave with a clear, written plan and an honest sense of what's urgent versus what can wait. Call or text 219‑440‑1233 to book.
Something hurts — can I be seen today?
Yes. We hold same-day slots for emergencies. Call as early as you can and describe what's going on; we'll get you in and focus first on relief, then on the fix.
Do you see children, and when should my child first come in?
We see children from the first tooth onward — the American Dental Association recommends a first visit by age 1, or within six months of the first tooth. Kids' visits are paced for small attention spans, and we're happy to book families together so it's one trip, not five.
Do you offer Invisalign, and how long does it take?
Yes — we provide Invisalign clear aligners with 3D scanning, a discreet, removable alternative to braces. Most treatment takes about 12 to 18 months, though simpler cases finish sooner; we start with a 3D scan so you can see the plan and an estimated timeline before you commit.
Do you offer oral sedation or help with dental anxiety?
Yes. We offer oral sedation options and an unhurried, calm approach made for anxious patients — easing dental anxiety is exactly why this practice was built.
What are your hours, and where are you located?
We're open Monday through Thursday 8:30 AM–4:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, closed weekends. You'll find us at 1123 Joliet St., Dyer, IN 46311 — in the same plaza as Little Italy — serving Dyer, Schererville, Munster, St. John, and the surrounding Northwest Indiana communities.
05Emergency

Dental emergency?
Here's what to do.

Call us first — 219‑440‑1233. We hold same-day slots. While you're on your way, these first steps help.

Call Us Today
  1. Knocked-out toothPick it up by the crown, not the root. Gently rinse and, if you can, slip it back into the socket — otherwise keep it in milk and come straight in. Minutes matter.
  2. Severe toothacheRinse with warm salt water and floss gently to clear anything trapped. Cold compress on the cheek; never put aspirin directly on the gum.
  3. Swelling or abscessRinse with salt water and apply a cold compress. Spreading swelling, or trouble breathing or swallowing, is urgent — seek immediate care.
  4. Broken or chipped toothSave any pieces, rinse your mouth, and cover a sharp edge with dental wax or sugarless gum until we see you.
